Anu Viljanmaa

Anu Viljanmaa has been teaching German<>Finnish and English<>Finnish interpreting at the University of Tampere, Finland, since autumn 2009, and she has been a full-time faculty  member in the German Language, Culture and Translation study programme since 2013.  Anu is an active, certified interpreter (EMCI). Her research interests focus on interpreter training, interpreting competence, and students’ internalisation of the skills needed in interpreting. Her PhD project focuses on computer-assisted dialogue interpreter training and dialogue interpreters’ interpersonal communication skills – especially listening skills.
